## Job Description
The Admissions & Float Staff Scheduler is responsible for establishing and monitoring the Admissions & Southeast Float Pool patient visit schedules/re-scheduling/ cancellations while ensuring schedule optimization.
1. Works in collaboration and partnership with the Supervisor, Southeast Float Pool to ensure patient schedules are timely, accurate and efficient.
2. Works in an office environment and navigates in a Windows-based and Web-based system in order to optimize Admissions & Southeast Float Pool staff current and future schedules.
3. Schedules and re-schedules appointments for Admissions & Southeast Float Pool staff to minimize drive time and/or distance as needed, and suggests alternative routes when appropriate.
4. Assists in ordering DME prior to admission visit.
5. Assists in the coordination of referrals discharging home from a hospital setting.
6. Reviews time logs and reconciles discrepancies with time sheet and time log, in coordination with the Supervisor. Reviews verified/unverified visits on a daily basis. Alerts Supervisor of any discrepancies.
7. Accurately documents all telephone calls in computer based system in a timely manner.
8. Oversees credentialing of staff for hospital systems.
9. Schedules staff to ensure the most efficient routes and maximize productivity.
10. Provides assistance to the Supervisor in tracking overtime and/or unit pay.
11. Utilizes allocated supplies and resources appropriately to ensure business outcomes are met.
12. Adjusts to changes in workload and schedules based on changing departmental and organizational priorities.__
13. Participates in internal and external education, training, in-services and other activities to promote personal and professional growth.
## Job Requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. _A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' clinical, billing and/or health care scheduling experience required._ Hospice knowledge preferred.
3. A working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
