SAFEbuilt has an immediate opening for a highly skilled, ACT 407 Registered Mechanical Inspector.
This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments.
You'll be a member of our highly respected building department team with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

Responsibilities:
Perform field inspections during various stages of construction Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations Perform Rental Housing inspections in accordance with municipal ordinances and regulations Report violations and maintain files/records Perform other related duties as required Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of local mechanical building codes and current construction procedures and technology.
Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment Skill in prioritizing and executing assignments with limited supervision.
Skill in using independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
Education/Certification and
Experience:
State of Michigan Mechanical Inspector Certification Experience as an inspector in the state of Michigan preferred.
Additional State of Michigan certifications preferred.
