52 an hour 20 hours ago 20 hours ago 20 hours ago The Communications and Advocacy Coordinator, under the direction of the Communications and Training Manager, will oversee agency communications, public relations, advocacy efforts, events, and social media for HealthWest and associated initiatives.
This individual will act as the project manager for various events, communication plans, and initiatives, while ensuring that processes are well developed and understood.
Duties include website oversite, media relations and advocacy, brochure and flyer development consistent with HealthWest branding; implementation of innovative internal and external communications; social media strategies; community outreach; and event coordination and promotion.
The Communications and Advocacy Coordinator will work independently and exercise independent judgment and discretion with respect to the assigned areas of responsibility.
The Communications and Advocacy Coordinator will lead development and submission of strategic goals and outcomes for agency and initiative Communications Plans based on assessment of community needs and ensure high quality print materials and web based communications are developed in a consistent and timely manner.
An employee in this class will work 40 hours per week.
Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications 1.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, Social Sciences or related field (Master's degree preferred); AND Five (5) years of social marketing/public education/communications/events and promotions or campaign experience preferably related to mental health or social services; 2.
Possess a valid Michigan driver's license; 3.
Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification; Preferred but not Required 1.
Bilingual candidates highly desired.

Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.

Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.

Physical Conditions / Work Location PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES An employee in this class performs activities that require the ability to frequently bend, stoop and kneel; the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; the ability to traverse a multi-level facility.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS An employee in this class works within the public school system, community at large and local agency offices, with considerable travel required throughout the County by use of personal resources.
