Employees in these positions will be scheduled for not more than twenty-four (24) hours per week.
The Human Resources Assistant, under general direction of the Human Resources Director, performs a wide variety of administrative work with a high degree of confidentiality.
Duties include providing clerical support to the Human Resources (HR) and Recipient Rights (RR) Teams.
This includes assisting with the employee onboarding processes for HealthWest employees, interns, contractors, and internal transfers; preparing materials for onboarding, career fairs and hiring events; maintaining HR and RR spreadsheets and monitoring required documents and due dates; creating and maintaining files; running RR and HR required background checks; tracking staff license and certification renewal dates; filing documents; preparing HR and RR forms and correspondence; monitoring and processing faxes; proofreading reports and documents, assisting employees with general questions; updating the HW organizational chart; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications 1.
Possess an Associate degree in a business program from an accredited university, college, or business school; AND have one (1) year of secretarial experience; OR Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the General Education Development Test (GED); AND have two (2) years' recent, progressively responsible secretarial experience.

Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.

Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required Bilingual candidates highly desired.
Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.
Physical Conditions / Work Location PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activities requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing up to ten (10) pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS An employee in this class generally works in the offices of HealthWest, although travel to other County and State locations is required.
Additional Information EVALUATION CONTENT Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position.
When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

PURPOSE The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
